Role: WordPress | Fullstack Developer

  • Creating WordPress websites using Elementor PRO
  • Strong Emphasis on GDPR compliance and website performance
  • Focus on making clients websites barrier-free
  • Creating React applications and integrating them within WordPress
  • Working on React + Node web app designed to monitor social media activity

My work included creating WordPress sites using either Elementor Pro or Divi builder (I've used other builders as well, but on older sites as part of maintenance). Since most of the clients we worked for are based in Germany (Which itself is part of the European Union), sites needed to be GDPR compliant, and heavy emphasis was placed on that, as well as making sure that the pop-up doesn't slow down the site, especially on mobile devices. Speaking of the EU, sites of certain businesses that fulfill the criteria need to be barrier-free, meaning that they should be accessible to users with physical disabilities (the WCAG are used as a reference). As part of my work with sister company, Smile AI, I've worked on a tool that uses AI to monitor clients' social media posts, and detect potentially harmful content. I've worked on creating custom plug-in for Swiss-based clients that have a need for both SwissRX and DocCheck plugins, as well as chat plug-in that has data specific to the site that it's located on.

Cinnamon Agency

Role: Wordpress Developer

  • Create websites using WordPress using custom themes built inTwig
  • Work on custom WordPress plug-ins
  • Working with clients on ongoing projects
  • Work with site builders (Squarespace, Framer, Webflow)
  • Focus on GDPR and Website Accessibility

My role in Cinnamon was primarily as a WordPress developer, although I assisted designers on other platforms with tweaks andcustom code injections such as Webflow, Framer, and Squarespace. My main task was building WordPress sites using a customized Timber Theme that uses Twig templating language, which allows us to separate the backend, php logic, from the frontend code. On one of the projects the client already had a custom-built plug-in on the old version of the site that we needed to integrate into the new one, and also add extra functionalities to synchronize the new look of the site with the plug-in. I also had to add GDPR compliance to older sites that operate under EU law, as well as improve site accessibility for sites that primarily have older audiences.

Alpha Efficiency.TM

Role: Web Developer

  • Created custom themes for WordPress using Roots Sage and integrated the theme with WooCommerce.
  • Creating and Maintaining Laravelapplications.
  • Server Administration (AWS, Siteground, Digital Ocean).
  • Regular meetings with clients regarding ongoing projects.
  • Introduce and supervise new coworkers with the Sage Theme and Linux OS.
  • Worked on a plethora of different technologies - Vue.js, BigCommerce, HubL, Python...

I started as an HTML/CSS/JS developer working on WordPress sites using the Sage Starter theme by Roots. In the beginning, I was tasked with front-end tasks, creating simple websites and landing pages, but as I improved my skills, I started working on more demanding projects. I worked on an e-commerce site using WooCommerce with Sage, Vue + Node project for real-estate listing, a Laravel marketplace web application for mental healthcare professionals, and many more. Apart from development, I also started working on sys-admin tasks, fixing SSL/TSL certificate issues, setting up environments on remote servers, and even experimenting with Docker. At the end of my time at Alpha Efficiency, I took a role as de facto team lead, helping other team members with complicated tasks, giving advice on potential solutions to problems, etc. I also had a lot of meetings with clients that I was leading by myself, and through communication, I've managed to meet and exceed clients' expectations.
